Spend a day with us at the National Balloon Classic! Enjoy lunch at the Machine Shed! Then, head to Indianola, visit Summerset winery for a tasting session, then visit the National Hot Air Balloon museum. Finally head to the balloon field view the Mass Ascension and Opening Ceremonies! After the balloons launch, we’ll head back to Omaha!

Experience one of the world’s most spectacular hot air balloon events—right here in our own backyard! We’ll begin with a hearty lunch at a local favorite in Des Moines, serving up delicious down-home cooking. Next, sip and savor local flavors at Summerset Winery, where you’ll enjoy a tasting and maybe even pick up a bottle to take home. Then it’s off to the National Balloon Museum, a small but mighty gem that shares the fascinating history of ballooning and sets the stage for the evening ahead. Tonight, the skies come alive during the Opening Ceremonies and Mass Ascension. Watch in awe as more than 70 hot air balloons in dazzling colors and whimsical shapes lift into the summer sky. The festival grounds are filled with food, shops, and live music—perfect for dancing, strolling, or simply soaking in the magic. After an unforgettable day of wonder, we’ll head home with hearts as light as the balloons themselves. (Lunch Included)
