Spend the day enjoying the amazing views, enjoying a cocktail or listening to a guide talk about some of the highlights of the journey! Upon arrival into Denali, enjoy an included visit to the Denali Visitors Center! Dinner is also included tonight while you enjoy the Cabin Nite Dinner Theater! Day 3 - Saturday June 15th
Wake up to stunning views and crisp mountain air at your hotel in Denali! This morning, enjoy breakfast and time to enjoy on your own. Later today you will travel into Denali National Park aboard the Tundra Wilderness Bus Tour! Keep your eyes open for bears, moose, caribou, dall sheep, and many other types of native wildlife. This tour is narrated to allow for unique insight into this amazing region. A boxed lunch is included on board. After lunch you are free to explore Denali on your own! You could walk some of the many trails around the visitor center, attend a Ranger led program or if you are really adventurous, take on a Ranger led hike! From Stephens Passage, your ship will turn into the glacially carved fjord of Endicott Arm, the southern sister fjord to Tracy. However, Endicott is special. It’s the fjord less travelled, and at its head, Dawes Glacier. But first, the 31-mile fjord. Sheer granite walls. Plunging waterfalls. Spruce and hemlock trees clinging to the steep sides. It is the definition of pristine. Look for “bergy bits,” floating chunks of glacial ice, some looking more like sculptures, some with resting seals on top. Keep an eye open for bears, mountain goats and whales, too. As we approach the glacier, listen for thunderous cracks and have your camera ready. Dawes is an active tidewater glacier that recedes daily causing calving, where huge hunks of ice plunge into the sea. About this trip

I had a great experience.  Good accommodations, good guides on the bus, good bus driver, fun visiting the various attractions.  Would do it again.

We had a great time. Everything planned, Excursions etc., went off like clockwork.  The Lilac Hotel on the island was delightful and so quiet. Centrally located as well. The driver and our guide we very personable and professional.   We do wish the Holiday Inn express breakfast was a little better and they needed to tell you to bring cash for taxis on Mackinac Island because they don't take cards.  Other than that, my husband and I had a marvelous time!

Great hotel on the island , fun things to do and plenty of time to venture out on our own if one chose. Our guide, Carrie, did an excellent job and our driver, Robert, also did great job. He kept his mind and eyes on the road and was very careful. Lunch at the Grand Hotel was awesome.

This was my first time on a travel group, so I didn't know what to expect.  I met a new friend that is wonderful.  I love the idea going as a group, the food was wonderful, we got wonderful seats at the game.  

When we were in the line, another passenger asked us how we felt about this trip, and he said we should leave earlier at least 2 hours earlier, something about being dropped off at the door, the food was not ready even though we were late.  I had no opinion because this was my first time on a bus ride.  So that is why I am giving 4 out of 5.

Husker KC Season Opener 2025

The Island is beautiful.  Louis and Jama were great and so helpful.  The kindest and most thoughtful fellow passengers and only had one employee on the island that needed lessons on customer service :).  The rest were kind and helpful.
Wasn't a huge fan of the Chippewa but the chocolates they left were good ;).  
Loved seeing ALL the horses; and would definitely remove the E-bikes from the island.  Considering all the horses, the streets were kept clean.  I did jump over any "water" puddle I encountered-just in case it wasn't water.
This fudgey would love to go back in a few years. 


Bus was comfortable with a great driver. Hotel and included meals good.  Never received travel packet from office.  Was it ever mailed?

I really enjoyed this trip.  It was fun getting to know JJ and Cindy and joking around them, especially with Cindy!
The substitute of Cape Cod for Martha's Vineyard worked well both for protecting our safety and providing a meaningful/somewhat similar location to visit due to the hurricane on the east coast.
Provided meals and hotels used were very good.
I don't like this coming as "write a review" as most of those are for public web posting (which is why I delayed responding).  I'm much more comfortable doing an evaluation or survey for only the company (I hope that was the intent here).  
Communicating details is key on a good tour.  There were a few mishaps there:  1) the 2/18/25 letter on the group air came with a departure date of 8/14 vs 8/17.  When I called on it, 2/28/25, JJ answered the phone and noted Excite was aware it was wrong, then indicated Excite thought sending out a correction would be confusing.  Since when is issuing a correction confusing -- to think that is disrespectful of the travelers as if they are stupid.  Later another letter came out, labeled "Updated" which was underlined.  That wasn't an update (as if the airline changed times a bit) -- comes across as hiding behind a rock.  Label it a "correction" as it was -- which takes adult responsibility for the situation.  This sloppy communication early on did not leave a good impression.  2) those of us that stayed at the hotel in Rhode Island vs taking the bus to the waterfront for dinner and shopping did not get word of departing in the morning at 7:45 vs 7:00 -- significant omission as the original plan was to grab breakfast in a takeout box when  breakfast started at 7:00 and we needed to take all of our stuff for the coach and wouldn't be able to go back to the room.  An email was put out the night before with details of the change in plans, going to Cape Cod vs Martha's Vineyard, however, which had good intent, but don't leave out key info!  At least JJ took responsibility for that and apologized.  3) About a week before the trip Brie emailed indicating that Stephanie Steffensmeier would be calling before the trip.  That did not happen.  Either follow through or indicate in a subsequent email that won't happen and encourage any questions via the email.  One hates to miss an expected call on a pending trip.  4) A few times on the trip, JJ emailed us while we were doing a planned activity (e.g., the boat cruise in New Hampshire -- don't get off across the lake) to give us instructions.  I never saw any of those until after it was too late to change what I did.  I've not had this happen on any of the other numerous tours I've taken regardless of company.  The intent is good but we're not glued to our phones when on tour activities, nor should we be, and communications don't always go through quickly if at all even in cities.  
It would have been helpful to go around and do short introductions.  I didn't know anything about a few people until day 8 or day 9 of a 10-day trip.  Name tags with names on both sides would also be helpful as too many times the back of it was in showing, making it hard to get to know first names.  Having JJ's phone number on the back was good but it can be put on the bottom in small font.        
Since a main point of this trip was to visit 11 states,  it would have been nice to always announce when we entered a different state.  I was always watching for this.  Finally about the 4th day, I started speaking out about that as I knew there was an interest in it.  It can be very hard to see these road signs even sitting toward the front of the bus and looking for it as a few were non-existent or quite small.
I would like to see the new tour catalog of the following year come out sooner, like in May, as we discussed.  Late May is when I've been booking my tours for the following year due to some tours filling up well over a year in advance.  I had 4 trips booked for this year and last October decided I could slip this one in as a 5th!  I've been "eyeing" several trips with different companies for a few years -- whether they be on my bucket list or "nice to do" list.  Similarly, I"ve been "eyeing" Excite's one-day trips for next year to Pella and to Indianola.  I saw some new trips in your 2026 catalog online that I'm interested in as well -- but I've already got 5 multiday trips booked so those trips will go on my "nice to do" list for 2027 or beyond.
Luggage handling -- it's been long, long time since I've had to handle my big bag at hotels all the time (not unusual to have to do it sometime due to limited staffing or time constraints).  I didn't mind at all -- just had to get used to it which was easy to do!  It's nice having that big bag with me vs putting it out sometimes over an hour before departure, plus from a security standpoint, handling it ourselves is much, much better.

This was my first bus tour and it was great!  Our tour guide was Jama and she kind, helpful and knowledgeable. Our bus driver Louis was kind, helpful and an excellent driver!  The trip was well worth the money.  I met a lot of sweet people and had so much fun.  I hope to go on another bus tour soon 

Wonderful fun group and guides. Traffic/time on bus not fun, but the guide and driver did all they could to get us to the stadium as quickly as possible.  Limited tailgate time, again,  not their fault. Overall terrific away game day experience and Excite did a quality job caring for their guests 

I thought it was a very interesting trip.  The accommodations & food were amazing.  Always good to meet new people.  Did experience a few changes in itinerary for tour guide but he made it work.  Will probably try Excite again

NE Mississippi Rivertowns Experience 2025

We had a great time!  This was our 1st and we have signed up for a trip again in 2026.  I have been recommending it yo others.  Great events, great people, well organized.  Thank you!

It was unexpected the traffic situation which cut us short of the pregame activities.  I suggest an overnite stay would have also needed due to late game!!

Once in a lifetime experience! The trip was just right. Great Driver and tour guides. 

100th Anniversary Grand Ole Opry Nashville

It was a fun experience!  Our tailgate party was cut short due to traffic issues, and we didn’t make it inside the stadium for kick off- but all in all it was a fun day!  Our hosts did a fantastic job and took great care of us!

I'm glad I went, was disappointed there wasn't bigger/current names at the Opry.  
Carrie was a delight!  
Rooms and meals were really good.  Some minor miscommunication with Excite and hotel, but nothing that hurt the experience.
Looking forward to my next trip with Excite!


I had a great time. Enjoyed the sunset cruise with dinner the first time, not so much the Mark Twain cruise (way too crowded for the meal, and just cruised around in a kind of circle) I was so glad The Mark Twain cave tour was able to happen, one of the main reasons I chose this particular trip. Wished the guide had done more games on bus to pass the time on longer drives, he only played 1 game on the last full day we were on the bus. Loved the shops in Galena, LeClaire, and Hannibal...could've spent full days in each of those cities

Sisters Trip! We met great people,  stayed in nice hotels, and the daily excursions were planned out pretty good. Restaurant choices, yummy. Tour Director Mark went above and beyond by working with the owners to make the glitches work out in the travelers favor....very much appreciated!!!! Highly recommend Excite  and will book another trip with them. Rick was a very good driver, too.

This was my first bus tour ever and I enjoyed it. Especially want to let you know I really liked how Brian (the guide) handled everything and his personal attention to us all. 

Eureka Springs & Branson 2025

We had a wonderful time. Great food, interesting places to visit, and met some great people

We had a great time on a well managed trip with a tour guide that was competent and caring about the tour members. Our driver was both skilled and helpful. Hopefully, we'll be able to be with both of them again!

The weather was uncooperative for our Apostle Islands cruise which was very disappointing. I know you can’t do anything about the weather but sure would have been good to have an alternate plan. I was disappointed with the stay at AmericInn. Very unlike Excite to have us stay at a subpar hotel. The restaurant choices were very good. And the stay in Lake Geneva was exceptional! Wish we could have stayed there longer. I think the Mail Cruise on Lake Geneva was the trip highlight for me . Loved having down time in Lake Geneva to explore and shop on our own. The orchard/winery visits were very interesting and the shops offered great choices. The lunch and shopping in downtown Fond du lac was a waste of time. Food choices were slim but not as slim as the shopping choices. That needs to be checked into. I would suggest a totally different plan! Jane did an excellent job under the circumstances. Heard talk from several 1st timers that they were disappointed and may not give the company a second chance. I hope they do…this was not a typical Excite trip. I will give it another try as I’ve had excellent experiences prior to this trip. I know this seems very negative but I did have a good time, met some very nice people, ate some very good food and saw many wonderful sights. I hope you will consider it “constructive criticism “. 

NE Apostle Island & Door County 2025

It was a wonderful experience. The scenery was beautiful.

Jasper, Banff, and Glacier National Park

TRAVEL…This was our first time with Excite tours. I understand this was one of the first trips with two busses (Kansas and Nebraska) so there were a few glitches as could be expected. Our tour guide took it all in stride and things went fairly smooth. It was so nice to catch the bus 20 minutes from our home instead of flying to where the tour starts as we have done for over 20 years with another company. We appreciate JJ coming to meet us as we got on the bus. 
Suggest that stops with 2 tour busses always include restrooms that can accommodate more than one at a time! Also would suggest each day to change seats on the bus in order that all get to sit in all parts of the bus. That also makes it easier to visit and get to know everyone.

TOURS…Mother Nature didn’t cooperate as there was a thunderstorm and it wasn’t safe to take the Apostle Islands tour. We enjoyed the planned tours, especially the Seaquist Orchard, Maritime Museum and the tugboat tour. Unfortunately the guide for Boynton chapel didn’t show so we didn’t get to see the inside of the chapel. The area was pretty but not sure it’s worth a stop. We also didn’t get to tour Kelley Country Creamery  and instead went to an ice cream store. We enjoyed Lake Geneva and may plan to return next month after attending a wedding in Illinois. The mail boat tour was fun and we loved watching the jumpers!

MEALS…The provided meals were very good and all went smoothly except for the meal in Duluth where the wait for our food was unacceptable. We loved the fish boil and it was simply delicious!

ACCOMODATIONS…were all excellent except for the one in Sturgeon Bay. It WAS on the water though AND their breakfasts were very good! Thank you for the future credit.

KS Apostle Island & Door County 2025

Rough start! You can’t control weather, so not your fault that the Apostle Island tour was cancelled. What you can control is confirmation before hand on a guide to be there to open Bjorklundon Chapel to see Frisco paintings and architecture. Stood there in the rain only to get back on the bus. Lunch via itinerary was suppose to be at Al Johnson 
/Swedish restaurant/grass roof-goats., that didn’t happen! Disappointing! Another, how can the hotel be changed and announced days before tour. We were  Looking forward to being  Bayside at Sturgeon Bay, to enjoy our evening there. We never got that! Hotels are surely booked in advance?with confirmation. The other hotel was not Excites standard. Although the hotel staff were very nice and accommodating. Location didn’t allow to enjoy the Bay. Walked around Target when we could have been enjoying the Bay and things around there . Even hotel staff said we were on the wrong side of town. Fish Boil was entertaining and sooo delicious!!
Having two buses traveling tandem brought  issues. The night we had the taste of Door County by the time we ate, , they were out of one of the choices, of course wanting that entree. Too large of group to begin with. Half way in ..things got better. Lake Geneva was wonderful!

This was my first solo trip. My daughter heard of the company and sent me the information.   Throughout the trip our tour guides, Bri & Steph, did an amazing job of scheduling, calling a head to make sure destinations were ready for our arrival, choosing very good places to eat and our accommodations were spot on!!!  We also had a wonderful bus driver who was there for us 24/7,

San Fran & Napa Valley Tour 2025

Excellent tour.  Fantastic tour of San Francisco.  And, the Wine Train was out of this world.  Superb dining on the train and the two wineries where we stopped for tastings were great.  We stayed at the Marriott and Excite tours always stay at really nice hotels.  Guides were fun with lots of energy and they really stayed on top of things.  Very accommodating, flexible and helpful.  This was my fourth Excite trip and they have all been EXCELLENT!!!

Ark Experience 2025

We had a great experience! Guides were all top notch and the food was excellent 

It was a great opportunity to earn extra cash to apply to our trip.  Downside was the gift certificates were coded by the card processor as a business partner of Excite.  Our credit card company, therefore, did not give us the extra points as it was not coded as a travel purchase.  :(

  The restaurant was fantastic! It was a one day trip so no overnight s. But when there is the accommodations are fabulous!

NE National Balloon Classic 2025

My wife and I enjoyed the tour very much.  Our driver Robert was a safe driver and kept the trip light.   Steph was an excellent and pleasant guide.  It was good that she shared some of her personal story.  The tour to the Creation Museum  and the Ark were very interesting.  The group was also a great group, faith-filled and Christ centered.  The trip ended on a bummer note:  we got Covid!  But I imagine that is almost unavoidable on a tour of such magnitude.

Trinity Lutheran Ark Experience 2025

This offer is amazing for those who travel with Excite and also could be used for gifts. 

I had a great time on this trip, the balloon launch was great.  The lunch at Machine Shed was very good and had several choices to choose from, something for everyone.  The Guide Mark and Driver Robert were great, very helpful, courteous and professional.  The art fair was a nice substitute for the museum that was closed.  I would recommend this day trip.  I look forward to more trips with Excite.

KS National Balloon Classic 2025

The whole group had a great time.  Everyone was well pleased with each day of travel.  The winery tour was a special surprise that everyone enjoyed also.  
Our hats off to Robert, the great bus comedian driver and Steph the awesome tour guide.  They both were very friendly, willing to help and just great to visit with and get to know.  You have two GREAT people working for you.
Suggestions:  Maybe turn the two awesome restaurants around, do the Italian on the first night since all we are doing is sitting and traveling.  Maggie's would be great for the last day since it is a shorter traveling day.
Hotel in Kentucky - maybe get a map of the area so people can see where the restaurants are before heading out to walk to them.  It was great of Robert to take us on the second night.
Hotel in St. Louis needs to know that things need to be updated like the mattresses in my room(327)
Overall, I had an awesome time.  Love all the places on the tour.  Robert and Steph were outstanding.  
Looking forward to my next tour with Excite.

Awesome trip! Best tour guide Alyssa & great step on guides(actually walking). Learned so much history while enjoying great food in Boston on 1st day. 2nd day walking tour of many highlights of Boston with history woven in.  Loved the food , hydrangeas, style of houses & amazing whale watching tour in Rhode Island & private trolley tour of Newport including 2 Gilded Age houses.  Ferry boat to Martha’s Vineyard & private van tour highlights- Alpaca Farm, lighthouse, seafood & more.  Just the perfect number of travel days & perfect number of passengers

Cape Cod 2025

It wasn’t a trip but a great surprise perk to purchase a $600 gift certificate for $500 for a  future trip! 

We had a fantastic  time! Wonderful trip good times , our tour guide was wonderful and so fun . Very pleasant  trip with very nice hotels and good meals. Loved the itinerary  and the drop by places . We will be traveling  with Excite most the time now and we loved that the group were 30 or less. Thank you so much for making our trip so memorable. 


Canada & Niagara Falls 2025

This trip was my first bus tour. It could not have been any better, Robert, our driver, and Steph our guide were fantastic. The outside temps were very high, but the bus was always comfortable. Frequent stops to stretch and walk a bit, were just right.

It was a great trip. The diver and guide were awesome.  Hotel in Kentucky was better than in St. Louis.  Food was great, but it would be better to have evening meals earlier in the day, such as 5:30 or 6:00 PM.

We had a great time. Wonderful people, delicious meal at The Master's Hand, relaxing time, except the extreme HEAT, which we were glad for the air-conditioned large room and the gift shop at the Lavendar Farm.

Mystery Tour #4 2025

I had a great time. The DeSoto Hotel was fantastic!! The places selected for us to eat was ok- the Irish food was good but the entertainment was iffy.
My one suggestion would be- send the itinerary when you send the bill or before.
It would be nice to know what’s - what before the departure date.
Hope to do more bus trips.

NE Gorgeous Galena 2025

We had a great time. Our guide, Steph, was excellent and went out of her way to make the trip a positive experience for everyone.  Timing of events was the perfect balance of free time and planned experiences. 

I took a different Mystery Tour that started the same way, at Masters Hand. It would be nice if they didn't repeat places.  We all just sat around waiting till it was time to eat lunch. We had 3 stops on the trip.  Very slow paced.
